The Cape Town Folk 'n Acoustic Music Festival All Set for The Baxter Theatre!

What happens when you mix South African folk music, country, boere musiek, classical, world music, acoustic rock, singer-songwriters, cape jazz, bluegrass, celtic music and a swamp of blues... Then throw in a few guitars, a piano, violin, banjo, ukulele, cello, piano accordion, steel pan, blues harp and voices from the heavens - all played by some of South Africa’s finest in these genres?

Yes folks, it's the 8th Installment of the Cape Town Folk ‘n Acoustic Music Festival taking place at the legendary Baxter Theatre from the 7th to the 8th August!

Over the last 7 events the festival has showcased 118 South African artists and bands and this Winter the festival has decided not to repeat any artist from the past 7 events!!

The evenings are set to be an experience of the finest musical storytelling from the personal journeys of some of South Africa's finest songwriters and musicians in their genre.

  1. As mentioned before, bluegrass and folk music will be on the other end of the genre spectrum. Many times you will find pop music as a crossover genre containing both violin songs and fiddle songs. music lessons
